40 Years of Accounting for Your Future


In Austin, TX in 1982, Bill Locklear and Hans E. “Rusty” Turley Jr. developed a flexible, easy-to-use fund accounting system for the nonprofit sector. It would grow into the leading accounting software for a wide variety of nonprofits ranging across health, education, government, human services, arts and humanities, community improvement, and housing.



After serving as an MS-DOS program, MIP for Windows is introduced marking the platform’s entry into the realm of modern computing. 



MIP becomes the flagship financial management product within the Abila nonprofit solutions portfolio. 



MIP Advance, an innovative, cloud-based fund accounting platform launches, and Community Brands acquires MIP, positioning it as the leading fund accounting software in the nation.
