Ela Area Public Library

the power of the budget module

In 1972, Illinois-based Ela Public Library opened its doors in the basement of Lake Zurich’s St. Francis de Sales Church. The library occupied 3,000 square feet. Over the last 50 years the library has expanded into a multi-floor collection and is now circulating over 1,000,000 items for patrons.

The Ela Public Library’s growth presented a need for a true fund accounting solution that would grow with them.

They also desired a system that would give clearer reporting for department budgets and easier data import and export capabilities.

“MIP’s file importing reduced the amount of time required to record invoices by 20%, because for a library we spend a lot of money on books, movies, etc. and we have to invoice for each of those. This represented a savings of 30 hours a month for our team.”  Lauren Rosenthal, Executive Director, Ela Area Public Library

Key takeaways include:

  1. How MIP reduced invoice processing time
  2. Streamlined budget reconciliation
  3. Time-savings on manual tasks for finance staff
